While stressing to make better use of advanced technology and provide round the clock services to the public, Director General of Police (DGP), Dr S P Vaid launched a website www.suvidhajkpolice.in at Police Control Room (PCR) here today.
The website is an initiative by PCR Jammu to provide updates to the citizens about various policing related activities, advisories and National Highway status.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vaid said that the comprehensive website and mobile application will prove helpful for public to get insight on various policing related activities and important information regarding missing children. He said that the application contained features like easy access of information to common citizens and notifications on mobiles for the users.
Deliberating on the aims of the website, DGP said that the website would facilitate the people to get ready information about the police related data compiled at one location for easy access. People can also get to know status of National Highway prior to start of their journey, said the DGP.
Dr. Vaid also visited different sections of PCR and inspected their functioning, reviewed the progress of communication network and dial 100. He rang up various field officers in the city as a common citizen and sought police help to update about the happenings in the city. He asked the officers to be act swiftly to the complaints of common masses on dial 100.. He said that the department is having enough resources to adopt the latest technologies and have to prepare ourselves for acquitting about the latest methods of policing.
Earlier, SSP, PCR, Ashor Sharma, briefed the DGP about the aims and objectives of the website with regard to easy access of the public to update themselves about the various aspects of policing.
Among others, the inaugural function was attended by ADsGP, VK Singh and Dilbag Singh, IsGP,Yoginder Koul, Alok Puri, Surinder Kumar Gupta, SL Sharma, Jagjit Kumar and JP Singh, SSP APCR, Sham Sunder, SP, Vinod Kumar, Addl. SP (PCR), RP Singh, SP, Telecom, DP Singh and other police officers.
