Ajay Devgn was in Film City’s Studio No 16 doing something he’s not known for—naach gaana. The actor who’s putting the finishing touches to his next production, Shivaay, which he has also directed, was shooting a music video of the action-packed thriller’s title track. What’s interesting is that the video while bringing the song to the audience, will keep the picturisation under wraps till the film opens in Diwali.
“I don’t want to show the title track as it appears in the film. I want the viewers to see it for the first time on the big screen as it’s something that has never been attempted before” says Ajay, who shot with singers Sukhwinder Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Badshah, debutante Megha, along with composer Mithoon. He also features in the video and promises a visual extravaganza which will be an added treat for his fans.
Most of the film has been shot in Bulgaria and when the 47-year-old actor-filmmaker stepped out for a break between shots, flecks of snow clung to his woollies. But this time the snow was not for real and the temperature outside was sultry rather than chilly. Two days later, when Ajay was at his Juhu office, busy with the editing, he was surprised by a visit from director-buddy Rohit Shetty, his Himmatwala co-star Tamannaah Bhatia and Bajirao Mastani actor Ranveer Singh. The trio was at Chandan Cinema for an event on Friday and after it wrapped up, someone pointed out that Ajay’s office was just down the road. Immediately enquiries were made to find out if he was in and when they got an affirmative, they impulsively decided to drop in on him. “They walked the distance and came knocking around 6 pm. Ajay was delighted to see them and they were there for about half an hour with Ranveer raving about the opening and closing shots of the Shivaay trailer. He was fascinated by Brit child star Abigail Eames, admitting that her last wave gave him gooseflesh,” says a source present on the scene.
Ranveer went on to add that he’d been rewinding to the trailer on YouTube and was blown over by the action sequences as well. Even Rohit Shetty was impressed with the stunts, particularly the introduction scene of Ajay lying in the snow. “Rohit and Ajay will join hands for Golmaal 4 at the end of the year or early January,” signs off the source.
Kajol back in action
A year after Dilwale, Kajol will start work on her next film, this one being produced by husband Ajay under his own banner, Ajay Devgn Ffilms. It is being directed by ad filmmaker Rajesh Saathi.
