2017 has been an eventful year for Kapil Sharma. The funnyman made news on a daily basis even before his TV show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ went off air and his home production ‘Firangi’ was up for release.
His infamous mid-air fight with Sunil Grover and how he haved to struggle with maintaining TRPs for the show. The actor admitted to Mid-Day in an interview that the incident played a major role in the decision to take the show off air. He even accepted that the humour started becoming repetitive so he said, ” we needed a break.”
He has been doing comedy on TV for the longest time now…even much before the launch of his own show Comedy Night with Kapil in 2013. The actor also needed a break to try something new. He told the Mumbai daily, “”I became popular with my show [Comedy Nights With Kapil], and everyone started offering me roles of similar nature. Despite being offered good remunerations, I refused to take them up,”
