‘Tiger Zinda hai ‘ earns Rs 114.93 cr in opening weekend


Continuing its strong run at the box office, the Salman Khan Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Tiger Zinda hai ‘ has set a record for the highest opening weekend ever for a Bollywood film with collections of Rs 114.93 cr in its first three days, trade sources said on Monday. 

A sequel to the 2012 hit ‘Ek Tha Tiger ‘, ‘Tiger Zinda hai ‘, produced by Yash Raj films and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, earned Rs 45.53 crore on Sunday, taking its earnings over the opening weekend to Rs 114.93 crore.

The film has now scored the biggest weekend ever for a Bollywood release as the collections have gone past the first three day earnings of ‘Sultan’ [Rs 105.53 crore] and ‘Dangal ‘ (Rs 105.01 crore). Trade experts feel that with today being a holiday due to Christmas,  the collections of the film in the first four days could well touch figure of Rs 150 cr.

‘Tiger Zinda hai ‘, which released worldwide on December 22, is drawing huge crowds ever since its release due to the presence of the popular pairing of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif  and its thrilling action.
