Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who hasn’t been a part of the Team India’s recent few series, has been booked for domestic violence by former Bigg Boss contestant and sister-in-law Akanksha.
Akanksha, who was last seen in the 10th season of the famous reality show, filed a domestic violence case against the cricketer, her mother-in-law (Shabnam) and her husband (Zorawar).
The reports on the matter emerged from Entertainment portal, Spotboye, while Akankash said that she would speak about the subject during the case’s first hearing on October 21.
Akanksha’s lawyer Swati Singh Malik also confirmed the news saying, “Yes, Akanksha has filed a case of domestic violence against Yuvraj, her husband Zoravar and their mother Shabnam.”
When asked about the involvement of Yuvraj in the ‘domestic violence’ scenario, the lawyer said,
“Look, domestic violence does not mean just physical violence. It also means mental and financial torture, which can be attributed to Yuvraj.
“Yuvraj was a mute spectator to the suffering caused to my client by Zoravar and his mother,” the lawyer further added.
“When Yuvraj and Zoravar’s mother was pressurising Akanksha to have a baby, Yuvraj too had joined in to do the same. He too told Akanksha ‘to have a baby’. He was hand-in-glove with his mother,” Malik further revealed.
“Yuvraj would even tell Akanksha that she should obey his mother because she was the most superior person in the house,” she added, “Really, that lady is extremely dominant. Zoravar and Akanksha were at her mercy for every decision.
“Yuvraj even told Akanksha that if she does not toe the line then she has no place in that house,” Malik concluded.
Post her eviction from Bigg Boss house in 2016, Akanksha had claimed that Yuvraj used to smoke marijuana.
“As far as substance abuse goes, it was there in their family too. Whatever I did was with them. I smoked pot with my husband. Yuvi also told me he smoked pot. It is a very common thing in the industry. My mother-in-law now needs to say something to justify herself,” Akanksha had said.
She even spoke about her troubled marriage after becoming famous because of the show last year., “Firstly, it wasn’t a marriage in the right sense. I was married only in paper. There was nothing in that relationship. I haven’t lied and I am pretty sure of whatever I have said. Nothing happened in my marriage. I am not backing off from what I said. Saying that matter is sub-judice is the safest thing to do,” Akanksha had revealed.
The domestic violence case against Yuvraj Singh’s family has been registered in Gurugram.
